William Franklin Shuman
William Franklin Shuman, 76, passed away October 4, 2009 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.
He was born in Clyde, Ga. on March 25, 1933 to the late William G. and Pearl Lanier Shuman.
He was a truck driver for CSX Railroad. He sold peanuts and produce in Ridgeland and was a well known coffee drinker at the Waffle House. He never met a stranger and always had a joke to tell. He was a Veteran of the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his son, Ashley H. (Wanda) Shuman of Savannah, Ga; daughter, Maxine (Randy) Todd of Bluffton; two stepsons, Michael Hook of Texas and Glenn (Barbara) Hook of Savannah, GA; two stepdaughters, Sandra (Danny) Mote of Guyton, Ga; Patricia Hook of Ridgeland; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Perkins Shuman.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
