Myrtle Elizabeth Horton
Myrtle Elizabeth Horton Cooler, 90, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA.
She was born in Gillisonville on March 19, 1919 to the late Robert Pringle Horton and Sarah Elizabeth Harvey Horton. She was a graduate of Ridgeland High School.
She was retired from Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA and was a resident of the Rose of Sharon Apartments in Savannah, GA.
Myrtle is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Survivors include five nephews, Leon (Marian) Proper of Savannah, GA; J. R. (Polly) Horton, Norman (Betty) Horton, and Everette (Jean) Horton, all of Ridgeland; William Smith of Atlanta, GA and a niece, Joyce (Jr.) Jacobs of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Horton, Robert Horton, Jr., George Horton and Herbert Horton and sisters, Marie Proper, Edith Smith and Cora Kilpatrick Ruschmeyer; nephews, Raymond Smith, Eugene (Hilda) Horton, Grady (Nan) Kilpatrick and Jack (Janice) Proper.
Funeral services were held at Thursday, June 4, 2009 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 7488 W. Main Street, Ridgeland, with burial in the Ridgeland Cemetery.
