Ridgeland High's varsity boys basketball team raced to big early leads en route to a 76-45 win Friday night at rival Hardeeville.
The Jaguars led 8-0 and 21-3 in the first quarter. Ridgeland was never tested as it led 41-19 at halftime and was up 65-28 in the third.
Xavier Roberts led Ridgeland with 26 points. Teammate Aundraye Robinson scored 18.
"The kids believe when we come down here that we're the better team," Ridgeland coach Jeremiah Faber said. "We don't want to lose to Hardeeville."
Hardeeville's girls rallied to defeat Ridgeland 43-36. The Hurricanes trailed 24-19 before rallying in the fourth.
The Hurricanes' Shantis Lee scored 15 points.
