This Senator deserves praise
So there you have it. Our state leaders have decided no to this bad idea. Gov. Mark Sanford has signed a bill that bans traffic citations for speeding "based solely on photographic evidence." The legislation moved ahead with the blessing of Sen. Clementa Pinckney, D-Ridgeland. "I don't want us to be known as the speed-trap capital of I-95," said Pinckney after the June 2 vote. "I don't think someone's photograph or someone's tag information should be captured by a private company." The new law is effective immediately. I think we, as local consituents, should contact Senator Pinckney and extend our grattitudes and encouragement to him for the courage and compassion he continues to show while representing this area in the state leglistuare. This is done now. Stick a fork in it. It is always nice to see what is decent and fair, and consitutional rights, win over more greed, more government and more power.
