Ridgeland High's varsity basketball team squandered a huge halftime lead and lost 64-61 to visiting SCHSL Region 5-AA opponent Barnwell on Friday night.
The Jaguars led 38-21 at halftime but were outworked the second half. They shot 9 for 36 in the half.
Ridgeland (13-7, 5-4) dropped to third in the region.

The Jaguars' girls won 38-33 and clinched the No. 3 seed in the state playoffs. Ridgeland is 8-10 and 5-4 in the region.
