I believe MRJAZZYBRO misunderstood my stance on education. I believe and support public education. Always have-always will. I was a strong opponent to the charter school push a few years ago. I believe that the people should be responsible for the education of children in a public venue. I also believe that the private schools in Jasper are doing a great job and I believe that the children in private schools are getting a better education than those in public schools.

Two points. First,how in the world can parents and elected officials that control the money put up with this situation. It is a sorry,sorry parent that will sit back and watch their children go without an education. To elect over and over again those who have not delivered and will not deliver an adequate education to all children is a terrible shame that parents must live with. If you keep these people in office where they do nothing (regardless if your reverend says vote for them or not) is wrong. It has been this way for generations. Wasted minds wandering the streets with no dreams and no hope. Second. If you think that a child can learn to play basketball,sing and dance and that will get him to a quality life-you are wrong.

I believe in the children. Not the parents,the teachers,administration or elected officials. I believe that each child has it within himself or herself to be great. I believe it is there. There is nobody in Jasper County that is involved with education to bring out that greatness. I want each child to finish high school with options for the future. I don't mean a choice between flipping hamburgers,selling crack or having babies-I mean real choices.

It does not take a lot of effort to change change the lives of children but you do have to care. Where is the caring? MRJAZZYBRO I thank you for your response. It never bothers me when people disagree but please,don't think I don't believe in public schools. I was raised in public schools and they will always be my choice for childhood education.
