Mr. JazzyBro's Football Fix- Week 7

Friday is once again amongst us, and that means that the jags will once again be in action. Tonight Ridgeland has a tough task against 1a powerhouse Allendale-Fairfax. But, of course, befroe we get to the breakdown.......

Kudos to Ridgeland on a hard fought win against Whale Branch last week. Don't know if it was Whale Branch looking to make a strong statement, Ridgeland once gain "playing down" to its opponent, or a mixture of both, but Ridgeland struggled against a team it should have dominated. NOt taking anything away from Whale Branch, but the Warriors were horrible against the run, and they were able to contain one of the state's most potent running game. That's now two weeks that Ridgeland has played lower than its potential, and now with teh final stretch of the season coming around, the jags will need ot be more consistent in the field.......

Ridgeland Jaguars (3-3; 2-1 Region 5-A) vs. Allendale-Fairfax Tigers (4-1; 3-0 Region 5-A)

Previous Meeting: Allendale destroyed Ridgeland 42-6 in 2007

On paper, both teams look about even. They've had similar results against like opponents, adn Allednale has been known to be a smasmouth team that will run the ball and pop you in the mouth on D. So far the Tigers average 36ppg. Defensively, the Tigers will look to stop teh "jaguars Express", btu have had some issues stopping the run in few of its games this year.

Ridgeland has had one of its best offensive seasons to date in quite some time. After pushing Bamberg to the brink three weeks ago, don't expect anyone to sleep on the Jags anymore. With Amlett, Scott, adn Capers leading the train, the Jags have been able to succesfully wear itrs opponents down with long scoring drives, and even big gains. So far this season, Ridgeland has drastically cut back on its turnovers and penalites, especially in crunch times. Defensively Ridgeland has improved every week, with last week havingkey plays in the passing department, an area of heavy concern. Tonight they will have to be disciplined on the run and play-actions, as Allendale will look to exploit the backs, and try and spread the game.

My pick: Allendale by 3
