It’s funny how things have a way of coming together and working themselves out. What's astonishing is this usually happens after you throw in the towel and totally surrender. This qualifies as one of those times when it's okay to give up or as I like to say, “pick your battle.” Can I tell you that every issue in your life, no matter how pressing, does not require your immediate attention.
As a parent, in their beginning years, our children tend to ask a million questions: why?
And they are in good company. A simple Google search resulted in more than 976 million hits for the word why. Being inquisitive is an inclination to ask numerous questions to gain understanding or increase knowledge. So, why do we ask why anyway? Because we don't know or have the answer.
After a week of furlough, the House of Representatives returned to take up pending actions. The House of Representatives returned H.3650, the fiscal year 2009-2010 GENERAL APPROPRIATIONS BILL, to the Senate with amendments. The Senate subsequently concurred in the House amendments and enrolled the bill for ratification.
There is no such thing as a medic who has seen it all. There is always something that will occur that tops the last "I've seen it all" episode. This is a business where we are constantly learning. To the new green medics that have just started in this field, it is an exciting time where they can be in the midst of things and get some hands-on experience and learn from the "old pros."
The old pros enjoy teaching the young ones and relating "war stories" from the time when they first started in the medical field.
In the past few weeks, I have received e-mails from concerned citizens. They do not believe all is right in Jasper County. As always, their names will not be revealed. They know their information will remain a secret with me.
Work needs to be done. Questions need to be asked. Information needs to be received. I have never printed or stated any facts or asked any questions unless I already knew the answer. If you want to help bring the truth out, I need you to e-mail me.
Let's talk about the Jasper County budget. What a mess. Council members voted 3-2 against passing a $670,000 burden to the citizens. Chairman Hood and Councilman Blackshear voted for it. Now they say, the only choice is to lay off employees. They do not want to do that-no way.
Will they? Don't bet on it. If they do, they can rehire after the budget is passed. Where to cut?
I attended the Senate K-12 Education Subcommittee meeting (April 23). Remarkable testimonies were shared from the heart of many South Carolinians. I, too, want to express support for the South Carolina Education Opportunity Act (S. 520).
I am the mother of two school-age children, a sixth grader and a sophomore. My husband owns his own business and I am the principal of Step of Faith Christian Academy, an independent school of 200 students in Ridgeland. We pay a great deal of income and property taxes each year.
Why do some people avoid asking for help? Have you ever said, "I just don't know what to do?"
Life coach Paula White says, "You can't conquer what you won't confront."
Just as nothing plus nothing equals nothing, so does ignoring situations. They don't go away and in most cases they tend to get worse.
If the reason is fear, I declare that you need not be afraid. There is nothing wrong with asking. In fact you have a right to ask for help and to keep asking until you get the response you need.
