Jaguars run to region first-place tie

First Byline:
Anthony Garzilli

That was quite a statement.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville headed to first-place Barnwell last Friday night looking to keep pace in SCHSL Region 5-AA and seeking a chance to prove it can play with a top team.
The Jaguars did just that. Led by Gavin Bush's two touchdowns and interception returns for scores by Craven Howard and Aaron Deveaux, the Jaguars rolled to a 37-16 win.
The victory was the team's second straight and put the Jaguars (6-3, 3-1 region) in a three-way first-place tie with Barnwell (6-3, 3-1) and Woodland (6-4, 3-1).

Jaguars: Root, root for the home team

First Byline:
Anthony Garzilli

Now's the time to continue the support.
There's a team worth rooting for playing Friday night.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville's football team returns home Friday for its regular-season finale against Edisto.
The Jaguars stunned host Barnwell 37-16 last week and they're in position to possibly win a region crown or finish in second place.
The team is primed to have a high seed in the Class AA state playoffs and a win against Edisto could ensure the Jaguars at least two home playoff games.
